The scent, in full
A cool, fresh opening that turns warm and a little spiced, then settles into something deep and grounded. It moves the way the hour does - bright and a touch restless at first, calm and low by the end.
- Top Notes: Pear, Mint
- Heart Notes: Cinnamon
- Base Notes: Amber, Patchouli
Scent Family: Woody oriental - the cinnamon brings the spice, but the amber and patchouli do the real work underneath, so it lands warm and grounded rather than sweet.
Cool and clean for a moment, then it settles — the room feels lived-in and quiet, like the part of the evening where nothing's expected of you.

Full policyCandle care
Light it right and it'll burn clean and even:
First Burn: Let the wax melt all the way to the edges, about 2–3 hours. This sets the candle's memory and prevents tunnelling.
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn - long wicks cause smoke and uneven burning.
Don't burn more than 4 hours at a stretch; past that the wax overheats and the fragrance dulls.
Stop when ½ cm of wax is left to protect the jar.
When you're done, the jar's yours - scoop out the leftover wax (warm water helps), peel the label, reuse it.

The scent opens in three parts.
Top notes
Pear · Mint
Heart notes
Cinnamon
Base notes

The top notes are the first impression. The heart is the body of the scent. The base is what stays longest.
When to light it
For the quiet hour between work and evening..
The stretch between five and seven, when the day's work is done but the evening hasn't started - and you make yourself a warm drink in between.
Why this hour
- 5 to 7 is the hour with no job.
- Too late to be productive, too early to wind down.
- Slow October is for sitting in that gap without needing to fill it - it opens cool, like the day isn't quite done with you, then warms into amber as you let it go.
Atmosphere
What it changes in the room.
“The room stops feeling like daytime. It goes warm and low without you touching the lights.”
Cool and clean for a moment, then it settles — the room feels lived-in and quiet, like the part of the evening where nothing's expected of you.
Cold throw · Hot throw
In the jar. In the room.
A candle has two scents — the one waiting in the jar, and the one that fills the room once it burns. Every Pavos batch is tested for both.

Cold throw
The first impression before the flame.
What you smell when the lid comes off — on the shelf, in your hands, before the flame. The opening notes, cool and unburned, hinting at where the candle will go once it's lit.

Hot throw
The scent once the wax begins to melt.
The full character of Slow October, carried across the room by a warm wax pool. As the wax melts, the scent opens to its complete depth and reaches well beyond the jar — and it holds from the first burn to the last, not just the first ten minutes.
Tested through the whole burn - so it's still there when the room actually needs it.
